
Borovets Mountain Resort
Borovets (known as Cham Koria by the mid-20th century) is Bulgaria’s oldest resort – dating back to 1896 when kniaz Ferdinand I of Bulgaria built his summer residence here.
Today Borovets is the largest first-class resort.


It is situated at 1350 m above sea level on the north side of the Rila Mountain, 73 km from Sofia, 83 km from Blagoevgrad and 125 km from Plovdiv. (42° N 23° E / 42.269° N 23.608° E (G)42.269, 23.608)
The nearest town is Samokov, 10 km away.
